YouthBuild Ventures UK is a non-profit organisation set up to establish a unified, co-ordinated response to youth unemployment and labour shortages in the skilled trades and the green economy as well as the need for social housing.
With love and respect, YouthBuild partners with opportunity youth; young people who are characterized by their struggles with unemployment, poverty, and crime, rather than by their potential, to build the skillsets and mindsets that lead to lifelong learning, livelihood, and leadership. At nearly 300 YouthBuild programmes across 21 countries, students reclaim their education, gain demand led job skills, and become leaders in their communities; YouthBuild Alumni lead on the global youth movement advocating at the highest levels for a better world, social justice, opportunity youth and environmentally sustainable economies.
As a chartered member of YouthBuild International, YouthBuild leverages the technical expertise and innovation of the global organisation and builds on this to champion the role of young people in construction and the green economy. In doing so, YouthBuild stops the long term scarring effects of being out of employment, education or training. 2020 has shown that little can be taken for granted and whilst everyone feels the impact; the pandemic has disproportionately affected resource scarce young people. It has accentuated the existing fault lines in our communities and requires us to be bolder and go faster to ensure that opportunity youth are not left behind. YouthBuild prides itself in being aware of and responsive to the needs of the construction sector and acts as an intersection between young people and the industry, playing a critical role in bridging the sectors skills gap.
